A False Sense of Security, for Solo Piano (2018)

On January 19th, 2018, at 10:11 AM, I had a stroke. Within less than half of
a minute, I would sustain damage to my occipital lobe and have permanent loss of my visual field. This piece is a representation of what I experienced that morning, from the

time leading up to my stroke through the aftermath. Aside from the sensation of fogginess, I clearly remember experiencing a feeling of tranquility: a false sense of security.
